My Weekend in a Nutshell
My Weekend in a Nutshell
The evening was hot dark as we traveled the long stretch of highway to Ogden country… Sorry, that was too Hemingway-ish…. Let me start over.
The evening basically started with us lumping the gear and heading to Ogden to play one of our favorite places, Brewskies. The ride up consisted of me and Bob geeking out to the entire Rush catalog set on random play, which after every time a new song started to play, me or Bob would excitedly claim “This one is my favorite Rush tune ever!”
That basically went on for the entire 40 min drive.
The show was ultimately a fun time, with a few exceptions. Mikey, our little trooper, was so sick he could barely stand and after the set, promptly exited stage left. Presumably to go home, crawl into bed and die.
The following evening was our good friend Andrea’s birthday party and I was beaten nearly to death by The Street’s always energetic performance. Now, I’m not sure how old Andrea is, however, I realize that many of us our getting to the age that where we risk spending some time in the hospital burn unit after attempting to blow out that many candles.
Tomorrow, Aug 25 we hope to see as many of our friends as we can at the Huka lounge in Murray. I know it’s a school night, but we still like to see the beaming faces in the crowd. Til next time.
